JOB DESCRIPTION
PELLE is seeking a Part-time Assembly Associate who will be a part of our design company’s skilled production team specializing in the manufacturing of custom and high-end light fixtures. Responsibilities include the preparation, wiring, and complete assembly of lights built to top quality standards. In this role, you must be able to work well with your hands to build light fixtures on schedule, with accuracy and attention to detail.

The Assembly Associate role is a part-time position for 3 days per week. The hourly pay rate is $28/hour. Pay period is weekly. Part-time benefits offered. W-4 / W-2 issued at year end. WORK SCHEDULE & STUDIO LOCATION
This position is based in our Sunset Park, Brooklyn studio location at MADE Bush Terminal. Work schedule is 9am-5pm. Part-time is 3 days per week, from Mondays-Fridays, to be determined upon hiring.

The studio team, led by Jean & Oliver Pelle, produces light fixtures at very high craft level, with material techniques and fabrication methods which are unique to the studio. In this role, you must be able to work well with your hands to build light fixtures on schedule, with accuracy and attention to detail.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be able to assemble custom light fixtures with attention to top quality product standards.
- Consistently meet production timelines.
- Carefully handle fragile materials and parts that go into lamps – glass, paper, metals, and decorative artwork.
- Regularly maintain a clean workspace and organization of the lighting department; Assist with wood/metal shop order and organization, and other studio tasks as needed.
- Regularly coordinate and communicate with the production team & supervisor.
- Help maintain accurate updates into production binders per procedures.
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and possess a positive attitude towards the work and team members.
- Comply with company work policies and safety standards.
JOB SKILLS
- Be able to be hands-on and accurately follow studio work instructions and assembly instructions.
- Be able to occasionally physically lift and handle large and heavy light fixtures.
- Be able to distinguish metal material finishes, such as patina, colors, and surfaces; to see & discern the qualities in the materials the studio uses, such as paper, glass, and wood.
- Must have knowledge of hand and power tools. Wood shop and/or metal shop experience is preferred.
- Possess on-the-job good judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to follow a set of instructions, be self-organized, work independently, and follow work procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Professional references upon request.
- Professional willingness to quickly learn new products and to adapt to new ways since duties may alter week to week or the production needs of the studio may vary.
